Troy Rawlings, JD

CIT Utah Academy Instructor

Since 2007, Troy has served as the elected Davis County Attorney. He was sworn in for a 3rd term on January 5, 2015. In May of 1994, Troy received his JD degree from the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. From 1994-2000, Troy was in private practice specializing in criminal defense and family law. He joined the Davis County Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor in January of 2000. Prior to his 2007 election, Troy was the Section Chief of the Special Prosecutions Unit in the Davis County Attorney’s Office. As both a prosecutors and defense attorney, he has handled numerous cases and has been involved in many jury and bench trials related to violent crimes against children and women. Troy also serves on the Advisory Board of the National Center for Prosecutor Integrity and the Utah Board of Juvenile Justice. He has received both state and national professional awards.

Troy was integral in the development and the continuation of the Davis County Mental Health Court. Troy is also a member of the Davis County Children’s Justice Center Advisory Board. Additionally, Troy is an instructor at the Davis Regional CIT Academy.
