Chief Daren Adams,
1st Vice President

Chief Darin M. Adams is the Chief of Police of the Cedar City Police Department. Chief Adams has over 25 years of experience as a law enforcement officer. He has experience with nearly every aspect of law enforcement and served as a CIT regional Coordinator for the State of Utah in the southern region of the state since its inception of the program in 2009. Chief Adams provided the first tracker for the newly formed Mental Health Court in Iron County to get the program started in collaboration with the Iron County Attorney’s Office and Southwest Behavioral Health Center.

Chief Adams has served as the Region 1 Vice President for the Utah Chiefs of Police Association and currently serves as the Association’s Treasurer. Chief Adams currently serves as the Chair for the Utah Mental Health Crisis Intervention Council and as the 1st Vice President of CIT Utah, Inc.

Chief Adams is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Utah and holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration/Management and a master’s degree in Public Administration. Chief Adams is passionate about creating and engaging in best practices for those individuals and families dealing with mental illness and crisis.
