Non Peace Officer – $75.00
Pre-authorization from the Regional Coordinator is required to register for this Academy as a non peace officer. Please contact the the coordinator to obtain the registration code to be entered during the registration process.
Peace Officer - Inside Region – $75.00
Sworn Peace Officer within the counties listed in the description.

By submitting this registration, you certify that you currently are certified in the State of Utah as a Sworn Peace Officer or are a Sworn Federal Officer and employed as such.
Peace Officer - Outside Region – $150.00
Sworn Peace Officer outside the counties listed within the description.

By submitting this registration, you certify that you currently are certified in the State of Utah as a Sworn Peace Officer or are a Sworn Federal Officer and employed as such.

This CIT Academy is a forty-hour course of instruction that is completed in a one-week session. The instructors include Physicians, Psychologists, Licensed Social Workers, Specialists, and Police Instructors.

The objectives of the CIT Academy are to:

Increase officers' awareness of behavioral health issues and empathy of behavioral healthcare consumers.
Instruct officers in effective techniques utilized when encountering behavioral healthcare consumers.
Broaden officers' knowledge of resources and understanding of legal issues.
Assist officers with providing safer interventions and most appropriate resolutions.

Peace Officers who successfully complete this training and pass all required testing will be recognized by the State of Utah as a CIT Officer. Non Peace Officers who successfully complete this training will receive a Certificate of Completion.

DUE TO SOME PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THIS ACADEMY, PEACE OFFICERS ON LIGHT DUTY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND.

Tuition for this Academy:

$75 for Peace Officers of agencies in the counties of:

Iron, Washington, Beaver, Kane, Garfield.

$150 for Peace Officers of agencies outside of those counties.

$75 for all Non Peace Officers
